Ever since I was a child, I was intrigued by people who wore traditional costumes. I first came into contact with Staphorst, because my family went on holiday to Drenthe every summer. At the same time via the ring with the Dutch button that my sister and I wore on our fingers. It was a great honour for me that the Rijksmuseum asked me to make a Girl with a pearl earring collection for the Vermeer exhibition. Johannes Vermeer has been one of my favorite painters since my youth.

The jewelry, inspired by Delft Blue, is made of porcelain and hand-painted by a Delft Blue painter. She can paint really beautifully and delicately. I also really enjoy working with porcelain. You can work in great detail and I love the texture.
